Have you noticed that there have been a lot more ads about lingerie and loungewear lately? They are there in your Instastories, Instagram Feed, Facebook Feed, websites that you visit, they are everywhere! With technology and research being taken into account to create new pieces and with so many companies pivoted to selling loungewear and bralettes, we are glad that there have been a lot more options and innovation in the lingerie field than ever before.
However, with so many ads targeting us everyday, how do we know which pieces are actually comfortable, supportive, keep their shape for a long time, and fulfill our needs?
As stylists, it is both our job and our passion to look for the best pieces in the industry, so without further ado, here are our "Best of" list:
1. The best bra to work from home in
Soft Embrace Wireless Contour Bra (Understance)
The Soft Embrace Series from Understance is our go-to work from home lingerie. It is seamless, comfy, stretchy, and molds to your shape. The smooth cups ensure that you can layer it with any outfit to achieve that professional look, while the wirefree shape keeps you comfy all day long.
2. The sexiest piece you can wear outside the bedroom
So many of our clients would like to wear something sexy and bold underneath their everyday clothes or "going-out" outfits without feeling uncomfortable.
While a lot of strappy lingerie tends to be sexy, they are also uncomfortable, whereas lacy lingerie tends to be too feminine and not "bold" enough for the look that we want to achieve.
Enter Thistle & Spire's Kane Bra Set. This bra set has been lauded to have the softest lace, the best support, and the most beautiful structure. What's more, they just launched new sizes! They now range from 32A to 40G (US sizes) and XS-3XL for their panties.
Thistle & Spire is one of our brand partners and we can't say enough about how well-received their pieces are by our clients.
3. The bold piece for beginners
Sierra Mesh and Satin Gold Ring Bra (Hustler)
For those of us who would like to spice things up in the bedroom but still keeping it safe, we recommend the Sierra Bra Set from Hustler. The gold rings and straps give off that edgy look while the bra's full coverage keeps you feeling supported.
We do have to mention that the brief's back side is open, but that's what makes it exciting, right? ;)
4. The best piece for traveling
Nana Bra Set (Miel Sisters)
The award for the best travelling bra would have to go to this one from Miel Sisters. Its unique under-bust compression panel and contour seams provide shape and definition without an underwire, while the Guardin™ built-in botanical antimicrobial protection against stains and odours.
With 2 ways to wear this bra (traditional or cross-back straps), you can pair this with a cozy sweater while sitting on a plane or a beautiful dress for a wine tour in the tuscan hillsides.
5. The best lingerie for bridal shower
Moonlight Teddy (In Bloom by Jonquil)
pair with Moonlight Lace Wrap
Not sure what to give your friend for bridal shower?
We recommend the Moonlight Teddy and Wrap from In Bloom. We love the delicate lace and the sheer wrap for "something extra" that your friend can wear while lounging in beautiful resort balconies or in the bedroom, waiting for that in-room breakfast service.
6. The best investment piece if you're on a tight budget
Pure T-Shirt Bra (Montelle Intimates)
Since our first inception, Montelle Intimates has always been our go-to for comfy pieces. If you are on a tight budget right now but would like something that you can wear for any occasion, we recommend the Pure T-Shirt Bra from Montelle in the color that's closest to your skin. This soft bra is perfect to be worn under any outfits and even though it has an underwire, it doesn't feel like there is any!
7. The best piece for boudoir photoshoot
Anything that makes you feel sexy ;)
